Cute Shirts and Our Awesome Kitchen

Here are Rhett's new great t-shirts by Circular Accessories on Etsy. I love them! I love the little ant hill on the back of the anteater shirt. And because Rhett has been so crazy about Captain Bogg, he loves his "pirate ship" shirt.

Here is a picture of our metal cabinet with the chopping block attached. Our kitchen is looking pretty great...if I do say so myself! The only thing to do is the floor.

Our Weekend Trip to the Coast

This weekend we had a nice little family trip to Seaside and Astoria. First we went to a fellow Law School classmate's house for a little party. There were a few lawyers, an accountant, a few spouses, a professor, and one other 2-year-old boy. Can you guess who the entertainment was? Next we drove to our hotel in Astoria.
Due to the rain we spent some time in the hotel. We watched cable (what a treat...I do love HGTV), went swimming, and did some jumping on the bed.

We went on a hike up the 300+ steps of the Astoria Column. The view at the top was great and I only got a little claustrophobic in the stairwell. One day Rhett will learn how to make a "real" smile.
Our last stop in Astoria was a great little coffee shop cafe. Serving what else, but Stumptown and great food. I'm sure you are all wondering if we made a stop at the infamous Goonies house. And the answer is...sort of. The private drive was not for cars and it was pouring out, so we didn't want to walk to it, but we had a nice look at it from the road. Also, Rhett who had been practicing the "Truffle Shuffle" was already sound asleep in the car.

Yeah, Tax Day!

We are so happy to have Daddy back! It has been a long couple of months, but now tax day is almost over. I have looked forward to today more than Christmas!

Happy Easter

It was a really fun this Easter with Rhett. He had a lot of fun searching for Easter Eggs, especially when he found out what was inside. He is a huge Jelly Belly fan now. Rhett is in the other room playing right now and I just heard him say "candy". We were able to keep candy low-key at Halloween, but now it is all over....
Here is our little Easter display by the kitchen table. That card on the ledge is an invitation for my Great-Grandfathers 100th birthday party!
This is a picture of the three of us waiting patiently for the neighborhood egg hunt to start. It was a rainy morning in Portland.

It was a mad dash to the eggs. Fortunately it was sectioned off by age, but that didn't stop the parents from "helping" their kids.

Here is Rhett showing off his collection of Easter Eggs.

Here are some "Yankee Doodle Dandy" nests. I'm wondering why they are called "Yankee Doodle Dandy" when they are made with Chinese Noodles. This photo was taken on our new butcher block on our metal kitchen hutch. Another picture will be coming of the whole thing!

Peg-Leg Tango at the Zoo

Here is Rhett doing a little dancing to Captain Bogg and Salty. They are a great local "pirate" band. We went with our friends Talia, Xander, and Elliot. The weather was a little chilly, but it wasn't raining! Yeah, for awesome kids music, friends, and the Zoo!
We went to the Zoo again this week and Rhett asked about the "pirate" music.

Blowing bubbles with "big" Elliot.
