Beginning to Nest

1. Organize the garage
2. Move fabric book shelf into our room
3. Move dollhouse into baby sister's room
4. Organize baby sister's room so it doesn't look like Mom and Dad's junk room
This is my dollhouse from when I was little. My Dad, Grandpa, and Great-Grandpa (who is almost 101-years-old by the way) built if for me. Rhett was really excited about it.
Dad, we had to pull up all of the flooring...yet another project to finish!

Trust

Here is the ever famous Abe showing off his clapping skills at our house! We had a great visit with Lori and Abe. He is such a joy to be around. So is Lori! Thanks for coming over!
Thank you Lori for reminding me to TRUST during this process. Thanks also Lori for being patient and understanding of my three year old! Rhett took a little while to warm up, but once he did he was showering Abe with kisses. And when I say "showering" I literally mean slobber kisses all over his face. Rhett even bowled Abe over by accident once and Lori was very understanding. We look forward to regular visits with our new friends Lori and Abe.
Here is my very first knitting project finished! Tiny "baby legs" for baby sister!
Here is Rhett modeling the "baby legs" on his arms.
I'll try not to count down every week, because the weeks don't really matter if you have TRUST, but we are almost done with week two. It is so much easier to wait when you are waiting for that call and not another document. I don't know where the last two weeks have gone!

Beach Weekend

Busy season is over and we took our second annual trip to the coast to celebrate. We went to Newport. The first thing we did when we got there was go fly our new pirate kite. Rhett picked it out and was really excited to fly it. Too bad it was freezing and we could only stay out for a tiny bit. Oh, well we have tons of good memories of our trip. Rhett's favorite...touching the creatures at the aquarium and swimming with Daddy. Mom's favorites...watching Dan and Rhett play in the pool while she sat in the hot tub, hanging out in the shark tunnel with Rhett and Dan, and working on the puzzle with Dan. Daddy's favorites...Rogue brewery and relaxing with the family.
Sure, we made Rhett sleep on the floor, but look how excited he is! Just like camping out!
We went to the aquarium and the shark tunnel was the greatest! So exciting.
Sharks swim under you too! So cool!
I'm so proud that Rhett was so excited to touch all the creatures. It was his favorite part of the trip to the aquarium.
Rhett asked if we were eating at the "rock star" restaurant for dinner. We went to Rogue brewery for dinner.
We had to walk through the vats of beer to get to the restaurant.
Here is Dan enjoying his goblet of beer.
It was a good trip!

Visits and Meetings

Our little drummer boy...
We had a great visit with my dad and Debbie earlier this month! Lots of great Gramps and Grandson bonding time!

How lucky are we that we got to meet this sweet little guy?! We met Lori and Abe at our favorite coffee cake shop. Abe is unbelievably adorable and holding him absolutely made my day! Lori was just as wonderful in person as she is on her blog. I look forward to more visits with Lori and Abe!

Another Decemberists Sighting

So, while my dad and his wife were here I wanted to take them to some of our favorite stores. We made a trip to Grasshopper for Rhett, Trade Up for dad (and Rhett), and Bolt for me. When I got there I instantly got into my hunt and gather mode. Until I heard an employee say, "Don't I know you?" It was Jenny Conlee! Rhett stood there and stared at her and said, "Mommy, why is Jenny Conlee a fabric worker?" It was really funny. Rhett knows Jenny from YouTube, but also our other run-ins. It turns out her friend owns the store and she is just helping out. Once again, she was a pleasure and she did a great job cutting my fabric.

Oh, and as for Trade Up...
They let Rhett use the drum kit in the sound proof room. He took it very seriously and I think he will be asking to go on a regular basis.
