Antique Road Show Here We Come
I love thrifting. All of Rhett's clothes and most of his toys were found at Goodwill or resale stores. Yesterday at Goodwill we found lots of great treasures. A couple of vintage Fisher Price toys, some Hana Anderson clothes for Rhett and "baby sister", and a new print for our house. I found this print in the yellow bin before it was even on the shelf. I really liked it in the store and even payed $20 for it! A fortune for Goodwill! When I got it home I had serious buyers remorse for the rest of the day. I was worried about what Dan would say. I was right, Dan said it was too dark...I agreed. There is a signature on the print, so I thought I would find out who the artist was. His name is Eyvind Earle. He was once an illustrator for Disney. He did a lot of the illustration for Sleeping Beauty. We found out that a signed Eyvind Earle print is selling for $1,500-$9,000! What! We found the print online...check it out! The print is in really good shape and there is a special stamp on the back that authenticates it. Dan likes the print now.

Mostly Likely To Be A Class Clown
I had a proud moment yesterday. When Dan got in the car to go to Krueger's he said, "My eyes are looking a little red today." Rhett said, "That's ok Daddy, everyone is different." This is something we say almost daily in response to some if his "whys" about some of the people he sees. Everyone is different, and Rhett notices these differences and respects the differences in the world. I'm proud of my boy. Sure, he thought Dan's eyes were literally bright red, but I think he gets the idea.

In Case You Were Curious...
...bath bubbles taste like sunflower stems and green beans in panang curry taste like dandelion stems.
Here is Rhett doing his patented "thumbs up-thumbs down" dance.

Our Very Own Log Boy
I finished Twin Peaks. The ending was disturbing yet satisfying for me. I don't know why so many people complain about the ending.

Weekend Update
We had a really busy and exciting weekend. We explored nature on our hike to Mirror Lake, we picnicked almost every meal, we did a lot of dancing to some of our favorite music, and we had a lot of great family time.
Here are some of the highlights...exploring nature.
Here is Rhett pretending to fish at the lake.

Krueger Farm Summer Tradition
We are carrying on our Summer tradition at the Krueger Farm concerts. We had a picnic, danced, went on a hayride, and ate the berries right off the bush. Here is my favorite picnic angle.

Obama the Prisoner
We were watching morning news when Rhett heard them talking about Obama. His head perked up and said, "He is our president." I said, "We hope he will be our president." Then he said, "Presidents get locked up." I was very confused. I asked him a couple of questions about what he meant. Than I realized he was referring to the other day when I told him he was my prisoner (I trapped him for hugs and kisses). He was confusing the word prisoner with president. I quickly cleared this confusion up.

Knitting Project #3
I finished my third knitting project last night. I'm a little proud. I know, a little selfish to make a sweater for myself, but the next one will be for Rhett. I already have the yarn and pattern!
The Fourth...Lapour Style
Uncle Ryan and (future) Aunt Anne came into town for the fourth!!!!!!! Actually they moved to Eugene. Rhett loves his Uncle Ryan and Aunt Anne! He loved reading Dear Zoo to them before nap and bed time. Ryan and Anne loved it too. We cannot wait for the wedding in September and we really can't wait for some cousins! Get a move on it guys! I get a little jealous when I see this fun!

Now That You Know, What Will You Do?
I've known for several weeks and I think about it several times a day. Ethiopia is starving. Mothers and Fathers who cannot feed their own children. I couldn't imagine the pain of watching your own child melt away and the suffering of the children is more than I can take. And here we are complaining about the price of gas. This story will break your heart...Ethiopia food crisis. If you want to help have a look here.
Thanks to other bloggers for these links and others.
Sweet Dreams
Last night when I was standing at the door saying good-night to Rhett he said, "I'm going to dream of my baby sister". He got an extra hug and kiss for that one.
