Three Little Boys In A Row

I'm keeping busy with dolls and banners. Two of these boys are orders and the third is for a sweet boy. I started working on the special doll for baby "a" before I met him (hence the "old" skin fabric). All my dolls are stuffed with fluff and love...as Rhett says.

Very Thankful

We had great family time this Thanksgiving.
We met the newest member of Anne and Ryan's family...Murray the dog.
We enjoyed a lot of classic Thanksgiving moments...olive fingers.
Notice the shirt? I'm A Big Bro. Thanks for the shirt, Lori!
Lots of time in front of the TV.
Two Thanksgiving dinners.
We have so much to be thankful for. Family present and family far away.
Our sweet baby M was in our thoughts all day and next Thanksgiving she will be a very welcome member enjoying family time and all the other Thanksgiving classics.

Another Free Banner Chance

A great blog, Northwest Mom Finds, wrote up a review on...ME. Here is the review. The creators of this blog are also adoptive Moms. I loved the review and I am offering a chance to win another free banner on Northwest Mom Finds. So, good luck. There are already 57 wonderful comments. Wow, I feel loved.
I presented Elliot with his birthday present last weekend. I love that kid. He literally walked up to the camera and gave me this model pose...so funny! His jacket looked really cute on too!
We can't get enough of baby "M's" picture. We love her more and more each day and the wait is getting harder and harder each day. I'm so thankful for the holidays and all the orders I have been getting on ETSY, because they are both keeping me so busy.

The Joys Of A Baby Bottle

Ok, so I used to walk right by the baby bottles at New Seasons. Today was different. I started to walk by, then I stopped and realized, we need baby bottles. What a great feeling it was to pick out baby M's first bottle. I pretty much had a mini breakdown in the aisle. Rhett loved it too. The first thing he wanted to do when we got home was wash his sister's bottle in the bathroom sink (don't worry, that isn't where we do our dishes and we will be washing it again). I have come to terms with the fact she may be too old to nurse when she gets home. It is a difficult thing to come to terms with, but we will find many other ways for us to bond. Ironically one way will be feeding her from this bottle....

It is becoming so real and it feels so good. Only 2-3 short months and she will be ours forever.

Today is the Day

We are very please to announce that we got our referral today!!!!! She is amazing. The call came in the usual way...no big story there. Erin caught me just out of the shower and I was definitely surprised...even though we were expecting the call very soon. She is perfect and just wait until you see her cute little rolls on her thighs. We are soooooo blessed. November 19th will be a day we remember for the rest of our lives.

Fun Times

We had a great visit with Gramps last week. We did a few new things and a lot of "everyday" things with Gramps.
Rhett learned how to play the conch shell. He was inspired from a Connor Oberst song (this is the song, but the conch part isn't in it) that has a conch in the beginning. My Dad got Rhett some conch shells and drilled the holes, so Rhett could make music. Let me tell you, he is really good at it. He says, "Just like Conner Oberst!"
We built a very elaborate train, lincoln log ("blinkin blog"), and block city. We had to leave it for days, because Rhett doesn't do well when we have to put his "masterpieces" away. Elliot knows this all too well when he erased one of Rhett's masterpieces, unknowing of the importance.
Of course there was the regular jam with Gramps on the guitar and Rhett on the banjo.
We put Gramps and Rhett to work raking the leaves.
Then Rhett jumped in. Yes, Dad, he cried when we finally picked up the leaves.
We took Gramps to Omsi.
We took Gramps to swim lessons.
We took Gramps to preschool.
Rhett and Gramps played the drums.
We took Gramps to HopWorks. Rhett is a little hyped up on sugar lemonade.
We were very sad to see Gramps go. Thanks for being there for all the good (and some of the not so good) times Dad.
I will leave you all with the song of the week...
Monkey man, monkey man. (dad's line)
Living in a garbage can. (my line)
Eating all the rotten eggs and broken toys. (Rhett's line)

Gnomie Ganomy Hat = Knitting Project #6

Nope, you read right. This is knitting project #6. #5 can't be shown until after Christmas. This hat is called the Ganomy hat, pattern here, and seen all over the place. I think it turned out cute. I feel like a gnome when I wear it and Dan laughed when I tried it on for him.
I know, silly photos, but cute hat.
Any day now...I'm sure, we will know who our daughter is. Our daughter's birth mother is thinking, please just one more day.

A Gift From PA

Here is Rhett watching the leaves fall....literally.
This tree was beautiful this year. When our front door was open the orange glow filled our living room. While driving Rhett will look out the window and say, "The trees are pretty. See, that's why I love fall."
I have met a wonderful friend through our agency yahoo group. She has been a great support during this process. Their dossier went to Ethiopia the same day as ours and they are also requesting an infant girl. How great it would be to be able to travel together to pick up our daughters! Well, in the mail today I received this great shirt...thanks, April!

Jammin' With The "Quartet"

We had fun last night celebrating Miles' first birthday! What a treat it is when Xander takes out his mandolin. Rhett took the jam session very seriously. He loves Elliot's banjo and always wants to play it when we go there. When he saw the instruments coming out he had to be part of the band. Rhett kept calling it a quartet with Elliot on guitar as the fourth member. He was watching Xander and Bryon and moving his hands around the banjo like they were. He played with them the whole time and really felt like part of the band. Thanks X and B for including Rhett!

Happy Birthday Miles!

We Almost Had To Cancel Halloween

Well, Halloween is over. I love Halloween. I love the decorations, the cookies, the pumpkin goo, I love the kids singing Halloween songs at the preschool party, I love kids dressing up.....

Well, here it is, Rhett's costume. I'm just so happy he was willing to wear it all day!

No nap and Halloween called for a quick stop to Extracto. Latte for me and juice for Rhett.

We headed out for the annual office trick-or-treat at Dan's office. Dan's office was dubbed the candy store by Rhett for the last couple of years.
So, of all the days for Rhett not to take a nap...
On our drive back from Dan's office I thought we might have to cancel Halloween. Rhett was a wreck! 2 minutes before we got home Rhett fell asleep. Knowing how Rhett is after a nap I still thought we would have to cancel Halloween, but after a little candy talk he was awake and ready to party.
Here we are on our way to the neighborhood party...Rhett finally woke up and was happy.
The kids were so cute in their costumes. Trick-or-treating was so much fun this year. So far, I would say this has been our best year, despite the almost having to cancel Halloween thing.
After trick-or-treating we went to the Moore's. That was fun.
I loved the neighborhood Halloween fun.
Here are our neighbor's pumpkins. A Palin pumpkin would've been scarier I think...oh, sorry that is a little mean.
Only 3 more days...
