Mezmur officially has a School Days jacket for when she is in school. This is a large size, because it will be hanging out at Bolt for the next few months. I'm a little bummed I chose to sew something that is out of print...bummer.
For a closer look at this jacket go to Bolt or wait for Mezmur to grow into it and you will see her all around town in her stylish purple corduroy jacket. Bolt does have a few more of these patterns too...it was a great pattern. I think I might make a wool one for Rhett...I have plaid wool in mind. I love Oliver and S patterns!
We went to Oktoberfest at Oaks Park last weekend. There were lots of rides, chicken dance, kettle corn, kiddie rides with guns (?), pinball, dogs doing water jumps, and lots more Oaks Park fun. It was so much more about the rides and slides than it was about the lederhosen and würste for our little family.
Rhett is finally LOVING school. The first few days were great, but then, the honeymoon was over. We had to carry/drag him into his class while he clawed at the door. Then after a couple days of that, he was done. Yesterday he said, "I don't want the weekend to come!"
Dan is LOVING our new car. Marveling at it's ability to "change colors" in different light. We got a Honda Odyssey, but I still lovingly call it the "swagger waggon"..much to Dan's disgust.
I am LOVING this website. The lunches are so inspiring. I'm now obsessed with bento boxes and cute Japanese accessories. How long do you think I can cut Rhett's food into cute little shapes? I am also LOVING that Fall is coming, because that means I can make Pumpkin Pancakes and Pumpkin Creme Brulee this weekend. Have I mentioned how much I LOVE being pregnant? I still crack up every time I watch the Swagger Wagon video...
Mezmur is LOVING her cute little school she gets to go to once a week. It is called The Peanut Gallery. My little social butterfly loves hanging out with her friends and great teachers one day a week. (and her mama loves having one day a week to zip through some much needed sewing)
Today I sent my baby out into the world. Out to a world without me in it. Five days a week for over 6 hours he will be on his own...so to speak. On his own to make right decisions. I just hope we taught him well at home. My hopes for him are that he will enjoy learning, he will be a good friend, he will stand up for himself and his peers, that he will eat his lunch, and that he will miss me a little...just a little.
Mezmur asks for her picture taken these days. She does it on walks and she was doing it all the way out of Rhett's school. She stopped by this collection of ceramic tiles and I couldn't pass up the photo op.
I'm so proud of Rhett. He is so ready for kindergarten and had no worries about me leaving. I only cried a little.
