I don't love the term "nesting"...really, I hate it, but what else would you call it?
I have stopped taking orders, so I have more time to finish up some projects around the house. The problem...I have a lot of projects I want to finish. We will see how much I can get done. First off...a new oven mitt. We have had one oven mitt for almost 11 years...this yellow one...

As you can see, it has seen better days. I have to use it left handed, because it was burned through on one side.

Sure, I could have just bought a new one...or a second one, but that would be way too easy. It's just not my style to make things easy on myself.

This oven mitt was born from a failed attempt at a table runner. I just didn't like how it looked, so I chopped it up and turned it into an oven mitt.

Here is the other side. I like it so much more as an oven mitt than a table runner.

I might even have two new oven mitts before this "nesting" is done...please help me think of a new name for the term "nesting."

How about 'brewing' or 'percolating' or 'simmering'?
love the mitt. hmmm, I looked up nest synonyms and the best I saw was "draw close."
The oven mitt is great! Instead of nesting I like Ted and Lori's idea of calling it 'brewing' or perhaps 'fermenting'. Love your blog!

Speaking of nesting. . . You ought to throw the old oven mitt out in the back for some bird to take for it's nest. You did need a new one!! Take care.
i love the oven mitt! i'm glad i'm not the only one who starts a project with one idea in mind and abandons ship when it doesn't pan out in reality. the fabrics made a great oven mitt. love it!
